Hey Pete!! Thanks my friend, your support is much appreciated. Your comments always leave me feeling encouraged, this one is no exception. ‘Botanic flow’ works for me. This was indeed a bit of a surprise when working the hair – i felt it was the right way to go in the end, leaving the white of the paper with subtle shading to suggest depth. Sometimes we need to just go with ‘the flow’. Thanks again and hope you are finding time to paint.
Hi J-C, lol!!! You had me going for a while there… checking my eyes as they are weary and bleary lol!!! Yes indeed.. “the girl is blue, the dress is red.” It means much to me to have your support and thoughts. XX
Moonspiral, thank you for your continued support and your comments leave me much encouraged.
Thank you Claudia, much appreciated.
Mrs Willow thank you for leaving your thoughts here. ‘Rhythmic and flowing’ is a most welcomed description. Your support over the last 2 years on the forums/RB/blog and encouragement is something i value and respect very much.
So good to see you busy with your art...many things are going on and you seem to be floating on inspiration as this last work...well done Dals, I always look forwards to your beautiful ladies!!!
Hi Vesna, Always great to have you whiz by – I know how busy you are (!!!), I appreciate your time and your encouragement via the kind comments you leave here consistently. The ‘power and the passion’ Ves… (insert smile) Ciao!
The lyricism of lines is a real feature here PG and quite remarkable imo! This work seems to extend the notion of a 'Celtic knot' in new asymmetric directions(!) and with an equal feeling of balance (yet more subtle here). PG, the twisting strands, and the way you have painted these as *interwoven* and also varying the strand widths along their lengths, provides a sense of volume, of spatial depth. The lyric *melodic* curves brings to mind polyphonic music. Another triumph!! Best wishes, wayne
Hi Wayne, my humble apologies for this very tardy reply. As always, I am most grateful of this support you extend to me. It is always very interesting to read your thoughts, knowing that you draw on your many years of experience as an artist as well as your vast knowledge in art. In a practical sense, this interaction leads me to research i.e. did not know much about ‘Celtic knots’ despite having seen them about (which are very beautiful in their geometry and balance) – thank you. Knowing these beautiful interwoven patterns are called as such, I now have come to understand your comment more fully, ’in new asymmetric directions and with an equal feeling of balance (yet more subtle here).’That you say ’another triumph’ is much too kind a comment Wayne. Thank you again, and I hope to get back to ’the painting’ soon. My best to you also. pg :)
Just imagine how different things would be, if only you had made other choices at various points in your past. Actually, don't just imagine that. Stop imagining it! Imagine instead, how everything could have been perfect, exactly as it was, in so far as it led you down a road that you could have embarked upon in no other way. There is something poignant and perfect about the situation you face now, regardless of all that frustrates or upsets you about it. Recognise that, and you will automatically make the best choices next.
