another late night painting
it's 1.45am
the moon tonight was hidden from view
this left me wanting for her
the Zodiac sign Cancer is a water sign ruled by the moon
being Cancerian i very much feel her presence
and tonight sense her absence
therefore painting her in my sky instead

come take my hand
together we will walk out of the darkness

come take my hand
together we will walk out of the darkness
the eucalypts will again sprout from blackened trunks
there will be no forgetting
lives lost will never be lost through memories kept close
come take my hand
we will remember
and together we will help rustle the canopies of the mighty eucalypts once more.

Artist’s Palette Magazine, Issue 71 (Published by Woodlands Publishing Pty Ltd) distributed to North America, New Zealand and Singapore, has in this month’s publication featured a 6 page Insight Article and Demonstration about my work.

A very heartfelt thank you to its editor, Trevor Lang for providing me this opportunity to show some of my artworks and talk about my art journey and early inspiration, and also to show a work in progress via Demonstration featuring

Trevor has been more than generous featuring me in this art publication when some of my Watercolour Ladies appeared in the section Lang’s Gallery supporting beginning and emerging Australian artists last year.

The magazine is available now through newsagents and via subscription.

Thank you also to the magazine providing me with a quarter page add for Perugina Art which will appear in next month’s issue.

A huge thank you to those who have already seen the article and have emailed me or dropped me a line with best wishes of love, encouragement and support.

My first painting for 2009 has me dearly wishing it was not something inspired by such tragedy.
My mood and those of many others not conducive to painting whatsoever as each day over the last week this sad news has filled our homes that being the tragic loss of 209 beautiful souls at last count.

mothers
fathers
sons
daughters
babies
entire families

My paints were packed yesterday, not knowing what to paint,
so i painted my thoughts and prayers
reaching out to those who are in pain.

i am in pain
for the people - for the animals – for the land
i cry

we cry

the tears of a nation
falling on the blackened land
which now is

sacred ground.
