Inspired by the Eucalyptus Trees that are responsible for the famous blue haze of the mountains.

Not long ago, i was asked by an overseas artist whether i painted gum trees? “Everyone there in Australia paints gum trees” was the perception. I don’t particularly like them per se, perhaps because they are everywhere to be seen.

As they are so typically Australian i thought, perhaps i shouldn’t take them for granted… instead seeing the beauty within. So whilst conversing with this person about our Aussie gums, i began to sketch out the beginnings of what you see as my completed watercolour above.
